Durham County Gun Safety Team (DCGST)
Mission Statement:“To reduce death/injury related to firearms though broad based and preventative strategies to promote a safe (violent free) environment for our children”
Background:
The DCGST was form in 1999 at the request of the Durham County Board of Health which recognized the need to prevent injuries and deaths to youths in our community from gun violence. Over the past 10 years the DCGST has participated on countless numbers of events throughout Durham (health fairs, civic organizations, faith groups, school events, PTA’s…).
