It’s time for the Peace Toys for War Toys Exchange!
The North Carolinians Against Gun Violence Education Fund and Urban Ministries of Durham invite parents to bring their preschool and elementary school children to exchange their war toys for brand-new peace toys.
War toys are any type of violent toy, from killer robots and toy guns to violent video games. Peace toys are those that encourage challenging and creative non-violent activities.
Mission Statement: “To reduce death/injury related to firearms though broad based and preventative strategies to promote a safe (violent free) environment for our children”
The Durham County Gun Safety Team (DCGST) will celebrate its 10th year anniversary this year and would like to hear from you about how gun violence in the community or home has affected your life or the life of someone you know.
NCGV has been awarded $25,000 from the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation to continue our civic engagement and statewide expansion work. The Foundation's award will allow NCGV to continue to grow our membership and life-saving programming despite difficult economic times.
