March against violence, candlelight vigil set for Thursday

DURHAM -- A march against violence and candlelight vigil is set for Thursday night at Durham Police Headquarters, 505 W. Chapel Hill St.
Registration is at 7 p.m., with remarks at 7:30.
The march starts at 8 p.m., beginning and ending at police headquarters.
The Durham Police Department's Victim Services Unit, along with community partners, is sponsoring the event. This year marks the 25th anniversary of legislation promoting the rights of crime victims.
Police urge parents to bring their children for the march and vigil, which is being held in conjunction with National Crime Victims' Rights Week, which continues through May 2.
